Inland Empire AltPunk outfit Nerve Hooks will release their self-produced single, “The Mirror”, on February 27th. Pre-orders are available now on Apple Music and Amazon Music. The pummeling track is a showcase of their hardcore DNA, featuring harsh vocal hooks, intricate guitar riffs, and lyrics about facing what the band calls “that m*****f***** in the mirror.”
Nerve Hooks formed in 2024 and has become a mainstay in the crunched-up alt/punk landscape of Southern California’s Inland Empire. Since forming, they’ve gigged heavily in cities like Pomona, Ontario, Lake Elsinore, and Rancho Cucamonga, with several forays into the mindbender that is the Hollywood music scene.
Their live shows are intense, with Joshua Costy on drums and Fiona Klinge on bass locking into blood-pumping rhythms overlaid by guitarists Danny Marquez and Owen Egger’s tight riffing. The essential ingredient of Nerve Hooks’s sound is Egger’s incisive shouts and barks.
“The Mirror” will be accompanied by the band’s first music video—premiering worldwide on their official YouTube channel at 3PM on February 27th.
Nerve Hooks will celebrate the release with a headlining appearance at IE ALTPUNK #2 in Riverside, California on Saturday, February 28th, supported by Krooklyn, Sugarvine, and Academy Rejects. The show is free for all ages.
